IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Julene Beth
Bishop
August 13, 1942 – September 12, 2023
Services for Julene Beth Bishop, 81, of Indianola who passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2023 will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at Overton Funeral Home with burial following in the Canfield Cemetery, Altoona, Iowa.
The center of Julene's life was her savior Jesus Christ. This led her to be an exceptional wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She loved spending time with her family exploring the Rocky Mountains and the shores of Minnesota lakes. Other interests and hobbies included playing scrabble with friends and Flinch with her grandchildren, puzzles, crocheting, reading and long drives in the countryside. She was a fabulous cook and baker. Some of the family favorites were her famous dinner rolls, Spanish rice, pizza, cinnamon rolls, apple pie, and chocolate chip cookies. Many years of shuttling grandchildren as well as praying over the needs of others was evidence of her servant heart. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
Julene is survived by her husband Roger Bishop; children, Scott (Anne) Bishop, Craig (Jenee) Bishop, Keith (Debbie) Bishop; grandchildren, Madison (Jon) Prillwitz, Danielle (Spencer) Frye, Crystal (Britt) Herrington, Lauren (Peter) Smith, Darby (Kaleb) Fletcher, Andrew (Rachel) Bishop, Jacque (Isaac) Mier, Cole (Erica) Huerter, Miranda Bishop, Seth Bishop and Noah Bishop; great grandchildren, Cullen, Jack, Finn, Bella and Zeke; sister, Annie (Jim) Wheeler. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Calla Rubendall.
Visitation will be prior to services from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials in Julene's name may be given to the Indianola Regular Baptist Church.
