Born in Des Moines, he graduated from Indianola High School in 1997. His greatest love was his family and friends, playing his guitar in a local Indianola band and riding his motorcycle.

He is survived by his mother, Joan Morris of Indianola; father, Joel Morris of Bloomingburg, OH; brother, Jamie Morris of Waukee; sister, Rhea Ann Frost of West Des Moines; grandparents, Jim and Versa Morris of New Virginia and grandmother, Betty Ogle of Medora.

Visitation will be held 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 5, at Overton Funeral Home where the family will be present to greet friends from 3:30 - 5:00 p.m. Memorials may be designated to the Joseph R. Morris Memorial Fund.
