Obituary

Services for Joseph "Joe" Carter, 90, who died Sunday, January 6, 2008, will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, January 10 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola with burial following in the I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

He was born in Indianola, Iowa and served in the United States Air Force during WWII as a nose gunner in a B-24 bomber.  Joe loved to golf and was retired as a State Sales Manager for Standard Chemical in Omaha, Nebraska.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Martha Carter, brother, Paul Carter and sister, Dorothy Link.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Carter and son, Steven (Kay) Carter of Folsom, CA; two grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held 4 – 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 9 at Overton Funeral Home where family will greet friends from 6 – 8 p.m.  Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society.
