John Thomas VanderLinden passed away February 29th, 2012, at the age of 57 surrounded by his family. Services will be held at the First United Methodist Church, in Indianola on Saturday, March 3rd, at 1:30pm. Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens Cemetery. John loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed participating in truck pulls, sprint car and figure-eight racing. He was an avid motorcycle rider and enjoyed taking long motorcycle trips. John was a well respected business owner in the community. John is survived by his wife Julie and his mother Madalyn; children, Emily VanderLinden, Jared (Kelley) VanderLinden, Mallory (Marty) Wells; step children, Sarah (Dan) Klaas, Beth (Matt) DeMello and Mike Poundstone. Siblings, Mark VanderLinden, Kay (Randy) Spear, Joy (Pete) Seyfer. Ten grandchildren, Stacia, Olivia, Trevor, Gage, Trenton, Rylan, Macy, Aleah, Sophia and Harper; along with many friends and loyal customers. He was preceded in death by his brother Paul VanderLinden and father Bud VanderLinden. Visitation will be held Friday, March 2nd, from 5:00pm - 8:00pm at the First United Methodist Church in Indianola. Memorial contributions may be given to Indianola Rescue or Iowa Donor Network.
