JOHN E. SHEAN Indianola John E. Shean was born May 22, 1940 and departed from this life on August 1, 2014. John was the son of Edward J. and Ruth (Ray) Shean who preceded him in death. John was very proud of his 25 years of sobriety and membership in AA. John was particularly happy to have been able to participate in the lives of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jo (Burns) Shean; son, Mike (Dana); daughters, Lisa (Jeff) Yazell, Alane (Doug) Tjarks and Gini (Scott) Jordan; 15 grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Kathleen Ortiz and Roselyn Brecher; nieces, nephews and cousins. Thanks to the wonderful care of Dr. Tom Buroker and nurses on 3rd floor oncology Powell. Celebration of Life services will be held 3 p.m., Tuesday, August 5 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola with visitation two hours prior to services from 1 to 3 p.m. Donations may be directed to the family in his name for a memorial to be decided at a later date.
