John H. Hommer, 81, of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away June 7, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family.  Memorial services were held June 9 in Tulsa. Burial services will be held at 11 a.m.Friday, June 18 at Newbern Cemetery, Lacona, Iowa.

John was born in Osceola and grew up in Warren County. He retired from Williams Pipeline in Tulsa with 44 years of service.

John was preceded in death by his first wife, Beverly [Herron] Hommer, his mother and father, Margaret and Cecil Hommer, brother Lloyd and sister Ruth.

He is survived by his second wife, Maxine, son David of Oklahoma City, daughter Rhonda (Jeff) Cash of Urbandale, IA, sister Virginia Gale of Bentonville, AR, stepdaughters Carolyn Dykes of Albuquerque, NM and Kathy (Beryl) Casey of Fremont, NE, grandson Riley (Kelly) Iverson, Ankeny, IA, and three step grandchildren.
