Celebration of Life Services for John Russell Felton will be held 7 p.m., Monday, June 14, 2021, at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola.  Burial of cremains will be in the New Virginia Cemetery.

It is with great sadness that the family of John R. Felton announces his passing on June 3 ^rd , 2021, at the age of 71.  John was born October 6, 1949, in New Virginia, Iowa, to Lloyd and Theresa Felton. He was a graduate of Interstate 35 High School in 1968.  John worked for many years with his father managing the Felton Appliance business in New Virginia.  He also worked as a structural steelworker for Des Moines Steel, Ford Motor Company, and Green Appliances where he ultimately retired.  John loved to fish and spend time on his boat with his girlfriend, Jody.  In his mid-30's he successfully obtained his pilot's license where he enjoyed taking friends and family on plane rides.  John will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

John is survived by his siblings, Patricia (Robert) Bruett, Carol (Dan) See, and David (Vicki) Felton; several nieces and nephews and special friend, Jody Runella.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Theresa Felton and brother, Stephen Felton.

Visitation will be held prior to services from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 14th, at Overton Funeral Home.  Memorials may be given to the family.
