John Ray Danielson, 82, passed away at home on December 21, 2024, in Indianola, Iowa. Born on November 26, 1942, he grew up in Underwood, Iowa. He met his wife of 60 years, Bev, in high school and married in 1964. John and Bev moved to Indianola in 1971 and raised their family.
John dedicated his career to serving the State of Iowa, where he utilized his passion for electronics. John's interests extended beyond his work. He was an avid traveler to electronic shows that allowed him to explore his passion while meeting others who shared his enthusiasm. Spending time with his family was paramount. He cherished these moments, creating lasting memories with his loved ones.
John is survived by his wife, Beverly Danielson, his sister PK Moran and brother Dave (Kathy) Danielson; his children, John (Dee) Danielson of Los Fresnos, Texas, Jean Danielson of Batavia, Illinois, Jennifer Smith (Tom) of Quebec City, Canada, Jason Danielson (Jessica) of Indianola, Iowa, and Joe Danielson of West Des Moines, Iowa. He is also fondly remembered by his grandchildren; Avery, Keegan, Ian, Drew, Lauren, Jack, and Patrick Danielson.
Preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Mary Danielson, his in-laws Raymond and Doris Jensen and his beloved brother-in-law Donnell (Mo) Moran.
John's family wishes to thank the wonderful staff of Suncrest Hospice for their wonderful care and concern.
John's life will be celebrated privately by his family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Warren County Fair, 701 West 2nd Ave, Indianola, IA 50125 in memory of John. He always enjoyed his pork sandwiches, funnel cakes and watching his granddaughter Lauren show her animals.
