Services for John W. Crawford, 90, who passed away Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 6 at the Indianola First Assembly of God Church with burial following in the Norwood Cemetery, rural Lucas County, IA. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services on Saturday at the church. As a young child, John attended the Brush Arbor Schools and graduated high school at Norwood Consolidated Schools. John was a lifelong farmer with his brother DeLoss at Norwood, IA in Lucas County. While farming, he drove a school bus for well over 11 years. He also worked at Dental-Ez Mfg. Co. and retired from AMF/Western International Lawn and Garden Division. Survivors include his wife, Winona of 55 years; daughters, Sandra Whitfield of Indianola and Cathy (John) Morris of Des Moines; grandchildren, Cherri, Tiffany and John II; great grandson, Wren William; and brother Cecil Crawford besides several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Brice, Gerald and DeLoss Crawford and one sister, Doris Day. Memorials may be given to the Indianola First Assembly of God Church.
