Memorial services for the celebration of the life of Joan Eleanor Guy, 78, who died Monday, October 15, 2007 in the Hospice Room of the Knoxville Hospital, will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 20, at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola with burial of cremains following in the Milo I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Mrs. Guy was born on August 11, 1929 near Liberty Center, IA and graduated from Liberty Center High School in 1946. She married Paul Dwayne Guy on February 22, 1947. They farmed for 47 years in the Liberty Center and New Virginia area. They retired and moved to Indianola in 1994 where Joan enjoyed visiting with neighbors and walking in Buxton Park.

Mrs. Guy attended the Methodist Church and taught Sunday school at New Virginia and was a member of the New Virginia Eastern Star. In her late years, she attended the Indianola Church of Christ.

Mrs. Guy is survived by her daughters, Sheila (Harry) Hunter of Indianola and Debbie (Gary) Bowlin of rural Indianola; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The family will greet friends from 9- 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Hospice of Central Iowa, 307 E Main, Knoxville, IA 50138.
