Funeral services for Jimmie Weeks, 77, who passed away Thursday, July 15, 2021 in Indianola, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 19, 2021 at Overton Funeral Home with burial following in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Jim Weeks was born at home in Indianola, Iowa on February 10th, 1944 to Maxine Thomas. Throughout high school, Jim worked for Central Paving. In 1962 he met the love of his life, Joanne Howe. He then graduated from Indianola High School in the following months. After his senior year he worked for Joanne's dad, Smokey Howe, and learned the drywall trade. On April 17th, 1965, Jim and Joanne were united in marriage. He was an extremely honest and loyal husband. In 1972, Jim and Lyle Vickroy started their own drywall business, better known as J&L Drywall. After 40 successful years in business, they retired. Throughout Jim's retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his two beautiful daughters, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was an avid outdoorsmen and loved teaching his grandchildren about hunting, fishing and gardening. Jim also had a knack for fine wood working and carving. Jim was a devoted follower of Christ. He greatly enjoyed reading the Bible and would always be receptive to sharing his thoughts and hearing other's. Jim enjoyed a long life and 56 years with his wife, Joanne. He will forever be missed.

He is survived by his wife Joanne; children, Heather (John Jr.) Parker and Justin Storm; grandchildren, Johnny Parker, Cameo Gioffredi, Alexis Parker, Autumn Storm, Madison Parker, Jacey Storm, Mackenzie Storm, and Kaisen Storm; great-grandchildren, Colette Gioffredi, and Jayce Parker; as well as three siblings.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Roscoe and Maxine Thomas and two sisters.

Visitation will be held 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 18, 2021, at Overton Funeral Home.  Memorials may be given to the Helping Hand in Indianola.
