Jessica Lynn Bingaman, 38, of Indianola, Iowa, passed away at her home on July 14, 2025.

Some saw her differences, we felt her brilliance.  The world may not have understood her, but to us, she was pure light – beautifully unique, deeply loved, and never forgotten.

Jessica enjoyed life to the fullest and made a friend to anyone that met her.  Jessica was a beloved daughter, sister, cousin, niece, aunt and friend to many.

Jessica loved spending time with her family and friends.  Some of her favorite times were camping and fishing with family, riding horses, swimming, going to movies and having ice cream with Chris, riding carousels, loving animals, listening to music, wheelchair walks, and riding around in all vehicles that she enjoyed naming.  Jessica will be remembered for her infectious laugh and her ability to love everyone.  She was so strong and taught many people about tolerance and acceptance of differences.  Her ability to persevere through all  her health struggles was an inspiration to many.

Jessica was born March 10, 1987.  She spent several years in the Indianola school district before transferring to Ruby Van Meter School where she graduated.

Jessica spent the last almost 11 years in the loving home of Chris and Shelli Robins with their daughters Caitlyn (Jackson and son Jettson), Callie, and Kyra.  She immediately became a part of their family, growing and maturing into her own magical person.  Jessica enjoyed spending her weekdays in day hab at both Imagine the Possibilities and Christian Opportunity Center, where she made many friends.

She is survived by her parents Jill and Dave Ostrander, sisters Jami (AJ) Sawyer, Kelsi (Jamie) Matheny, aunt Jody Wadle, cousins Kalen and Cory Shaw, nieces and nephews Rhylee, Kenadi, Wesson, Kayli, Wyatt and Kaci.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents Richard and Judy Shaw, and uncle Craig Wadle.

A celebration of life open house will be held July 27, 2025 at Overton Funeral Home from 1pm to 4pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorials contributions in memory of Jessica may be made to the Iowa Donor Network.
