Jeanne Elaine Johnson, 76, of Norwalk, Iowa passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, from injuries sustained in a car accident in May 2025. Born on September 19, 1948, in Chariton, Iowa, she was raised in Lucas County, Iowa with her seven siblings.  She attended school in Chariton and graduated with the CHS Class of 1967 and went on to then graduate from Americana School of Beauty.  Jeanne married the love of her life, Russ, on December 28, 1968.  Jeanne retired from August Home Publishing in 2013, after 21 years as their office manager.

Jeanne was preceded in death by her father, Leland Long; her mother, Geneva Long; her sisters Connie Ansley and Brenda Collins; and her brother, Donnie Long.  She is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, Russ Johnson; her loving children, Jocelyn Hermanson (Walt) and Jim Johnson (Amy); her siblings, Linda Henry, Lee Long, Kenny Long, Brian Long; her treasured grandchildren, Jake Hermanson (Lerin), Katherine Pace (Lorenzo), Lindsey Johnson, and Tiffany Johnson; and her precious great-granddaughter, Lola Hermanson; and many wonderful friends.

Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at the Norwalk United Methodist Church. The family will greet friends prior to services from 9 to 10:30 a.m.  A Graveside Service will be held 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, September 3 in the Chariton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to the Kavanagh House in Jeanne's memory.
