Obituary

Jean Lee Fight Hamilton (Coffey), affectionately known as "Jeannie," went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 31, 2025, at the age of 88.

Jeannie was born on July 30, 1938, in Humeston, Iowa, to Alonzo "Lonnie" and Adene Coffey. She was welcomed into the family by three older brothers, Maynard "M.D.," Robert "Bob," and Delbert "Deb." She also had a sister who passed away shortly after birth.

Jeannie spent her childhood in Humeston before marrying Gerald Fight and moving to Chariton. Over the years, she made her home in Ames, East Des Moines, Urbandale, and San Diego. She later married Paul Hamilton, and together they returned to Iowa, settling in Greene. Following Paul's passing, Jeannie moved to Indianola.

Throughout her life, Jeannie dedicated herself to serving others. Her career included many years in the funeral industry, where she compassionately cared for families during their most difficult moments. She later continued her spirit of service at The Village retirement community in Indianola.

Jeannie was admired not only for her professional accomplishments but also for her unwavering work ethic, integrity, and loyalty. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished friend to many. Her capacity to love was remarkable, and her deep empathy for others was evident in every aspect of her life.

The foundation of Jeannie's life was her faith in Jesus Christ. Her unwavering belief in His love, sacrifice, and grace shaped the way she lived each day. She sought to love others as Christ loved her, and her faith was reflected in her kindness, generosity, compassion, and servant's heart.

Jeannie is lovingly remembered by her children, Jeffrey Randall and Jana Renee (Bill) Krempasky; her nieces, Lynn (Pat) McConnell and Beth Mealey; and many great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

A Graveside Service will be held, 11 a.m., Saturday, August 29 in the Humeston Cemetery, Humeston, Iowa.

Memorials can be made in memory of Jeannie to Good Shepherd Fund at The Village in Indianola.
