Jean Bartley, 96, of Indianola, formerly of Iowa City, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2023 in Des Moines, Iowa.  Private inurnment of cremains will be held in the Oakland Cemetery, Iowa City, Iowa.

Jean graduated from the University of Iowa College of Law in 1961, joining her husband in practice to form Bartley and Bartley Law Firm. During the next 55 years Jean practiced law in the Iowa CIty area.  In 1995 she was awarded the 49th Award of Merit by the Iowa Bar Association.

Jean is survived by her children, Mimi Bartley-Nancarrow (Tom Nancarrow) and Bob Bartley (Valerie McCallister); grandchildren, Alexander Bartley and Benjamin Bartley.  She was preceded in death by her husband William Harrison Bartley and her parents, Edward Raymond and Besse Coral Hickey.

Memorials may be given in memory to the Indianola Public Library.
