Jason was born in Des Moines and was a sophomore at Indianola High School. He enjoyed playing baseball, soccer, video games and listening to rock music. He was an avid sports fan, had a clever sense of humor, watched WWE Wrestling and the complete series of "24". Jason was a good student and an independent person. His favorite shows were the Simpson's and Family Guy.

He is survived by his father, Julian Garrett; brothers, Ryan, Jeff and Jonathan all of Indianola; grandfather, Harold Havard of Newton and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Mary Ann Garrett in 2003.

Visitation will be held 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 1 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. Memorials may be given to the Indianola Little League.
