Obituary

Janice G. Lovell, 56, passed away Saturday, October 28, 2006, at her home in Norwalk, after a courageous seven month battle with cancer.  Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, November 1, 2006, at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola with burial in the Norwalk Cemetery in Norwalk, Iowa.

Jan was born June 27, 1950, in Des Moines, Iowa.  She graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1968; she attended DMACC graduating as a surgical technician.  She had operated a child care center in her home for over 18 years. She was a good child care provider; several children would come back to see her years after they had left her care.  She had worked for 8 years at the Communication Data Services in Des Moines.

Jan loved camping, spending most of her time during the past five years at Cutty's Campground from April to October.  She also loved to cook, providing excellent meals to her family and potlucks on occasion. Her biggest love and treasure were her three grandsons; she wanted to have them as often as she could.

Jan was married February 7, 1976, to Rich Lovell at the Westminister Presbyterian Church in Des Moines.

She is survived by her husband Rich; a daughter Shawna (Brad) Upchurch of Des Moines; a son Kyle (Missy) Lovell of Overland Park, KS; three grandsons, Blake, Bradyn and Blaine Upchurch; her parents, Leston L. Jr. and Midge Wilson of Pharr, TX; and two brothers, Leston L. III (Pat) Wilson of Cumming and Steve (Pam) Wilson of Urbandale.  Also mourning her loss are a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be held 2:00 – 8:00, Tuesday, October 31 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola where family will be present to greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
