Janet was born on February 15, 1957 in Tenton, MO. She was employed at Christian Opportunity Center working at a group home and was a homemaker. She enjoyed crafting, gardening and canning, farmers markets, cake decorating with her sister, sewing and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Jim; 3 sons, James and wife, Kelly and two beautiful grandchildren, Ian and Kaley of Webster City, Matt of Indianola, and Travis and wife Cari of Webster City; father and mother, Norman and Fay Lathrop of Carlisle; sister, Sharon and husband, Curt Snodgrass and three beautiful nieces, Tonya, Tiffany and Tristin. She was preceded in death by her brother, Bruce Wayne Lathrop, a niece Emanda Sue Snodgrass, and her mother-in-law Faye Killen. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa.
