Memorial services for James Wimp, 77, who passed away Monday, December 30, 2019, at home, will be held 3 p.m., Sunday, January 5, 2020, at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m., prior to service at the funeral home.

Jim was kind to every person and creature that he met. He loved the outdoors and being on his horse, Jubel, in new country. He was incredibly resilient and strong, fighting illness and never once letting it defeat his attitude or spirit.

Jim worked as a truck driver for over 30 years. He hated being on the road and found his true calling when he became an Instructor at the DMACC Transportation Institute and later TMC.

He was an incredible loving father who cared deeply about his sons. Married 43 years, he and Susan were best friends, never doing anything without the other.

Jim was a believer who greatly enjoyed his visits to Falling Water Church in Arkansas. Those who knew Jim, know he is either looking for a new trail or something that needs fixed in Heaven.

Survivors include his wife, Susan Wimp; sons, Steven (Dori) Wimp and Joseph Wimp; brother, Larry Wimp; nephew, Robert Cotrone; and Marilyn Titus and family.

Memorials may be given to the family for an Animal Rescue yet to be decided.
