Memorial services for James T. Clendenen, 76, who died Monday, March 13, 2006, will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 17 at the Trinity United Presbyterian Church in Indianola of which he was a member. Burial of cremains will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 18 in the I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Jim was born in Pulaski, Iowa and had served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was in the insurance business from 1953 – 1971, had owned Central Iowa Insurance Services, worked in car sales and drove for the Red Rock Area Community Action Program.

Jim is survived by his wife, Virginia of Indianola; children, Julie (John) VanderLinden, Becky (Jeff) Gripp and James R. (Bonnie Fish) Clendenen all of Indianola; brother, Howard Clendenen of West Des Moines; sister, Betty Erhardt of Burlington; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Visitation will be held 3:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 16 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola where family will be present to greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Memorials may be given to the American Legion Post #165 in Indianola or Indianola Rescue.
