James W. Krabacher, 79,  passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2006, at the Taylor House in Des Moines.  No services are scheduled at this time; a private prayer service will be held at a later date. Burial of his cremains will be next to his wife Evelyn at Fort Rosecrans in San Diego, California.

Born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, he was raised in the Cedar Rapids and Des Moines areas.  He served in  the United States Navy during World War II and Korean Conflict.  A career serviceman, James became an enginineer and worked on planes in the Navy in San Diego, California, until retiring in 1979.

James is survived by nieces and nephews including Rod and Dawn Vasey of Lacona, Iowa and his dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Evelyn of 42 years; his father John B. Krabacher and Mother, Wilhemia Lewis Krabacher; three brothers; and one sister.

Memorials may be given to the Mercy Sharing Foundation for Haiti children founded B. Joseph Krabacher.
