IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James "Jim"
Jauron
January 5, 1944 – December 27, 2020
Funeral Mass for James "Jim" Jauron, 76, of Indianola, who passed away Sunday, December 27, 2020, will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, January 2, 2021, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Indianola. Cremation will follow services and burial of cremains will be in the Iowa Veterans Cemetery at Van Meter at a later date.
Jim's life was one lived in service to others. He served his country as a military policeman in the Army for three years. Jim was stationed in Stuttgart, Germany. Having reached the rank of Specialist Four, Jim was honorably discharged in 1966. His life of service continued as he joined the Iowa State Patrol as a State Trooper. Jim's commitment to public safety was a source of pride during his 31 years on the Patrol. Upon his retirement, Jim directed his energy into serving his parish community at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Jim could be found on the parish grounds, finding projects needing attention, mowing, and assisting with maintenance. Jim led the charge to establish a garden for the parish with the produce donated to "The Helping Hand."
Jim's dedication to his family epitomizes his life of service. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jolene; sons, Jerry (Julie) Jauron, Jason (Annette) Jauron, Jeffery Jauron and Justin (Lisa) Jauron; grandchildren, Zach Fries, Jacob Jauron, Christian Jauron, Noah Jauron, Jenna Jauron, Kate Jauron, Emma Jauron, Alison Jauron, and Luke Jauron; siblings, David (Donna) Jauron, Thomas (Madelyn) Jauron, Julie Mortensen, Steve (Judy) Jauron, Vince (Deb) Jauron, Joan (Tim) Blum and Richard Jauron. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Pearl Jauron; and brother-in-law, Ron Mortensen.
