Celebration of Life services for James "Jim" Zitzmann, 84, who passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2021, will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Indianola. Inurnment with Military Honors will follow in the IOOF Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service.

James Zitzmann was born July 15, 1937 in St. Paul, Minnesota the son of Rev. Paul and Lesena (Stoltenberg) Zitzmann. Jim graduated from Madelia High School then Mankato State College. He received Basic Training at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri and served six years in the Army Reserve. On August 4, 1963 he was united in marriage to Patricia Wilke. Following their marriage, they moved to Iowa and he taught for 30 years in Indianola before retiring in June of 1995. He was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Indianola.

He is survived by his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia; parents, Paul and Lesena Zitzmann; sister, Ruth Berg; brother, Charles Zitzmann.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church or an organization of your choosing in his name.
