Born in Indianola, James lived all his life in Warren County; farming, trucking and was very involved with Draft Horses.

He is survived by his daughter, Betti Sudbrock of Independence, MO; son, James Halterman of Prole; 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held 2 – 4:00 p.m., Sunday, April 2 at Overton Funeral Home where family will be present to greet friends. Memorials may be given in his name to the Draft Horse Journal, c/o Maurice Telleen Box 670, Waverly, IA 50677.
