IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James Alan
Dugan
April 18, 1961 – August 31, 2017
JAMES ALAN DUGAN
Indianola
56 years young, Jim rode on into eternal life on August 31, 2017. Born April 18, 1961 in Milwaukee, WI, Jim is survived by his wife of 37 years, Judy (Lehman); sons, Alan of Carlisle and Robert (Sydney) of Denver, CO; parents, John and Ginny of Indianola; sister, Renee of Milwaukee; brother, Brian (Shelly) of Indianola; niece, Claire; nephew, John; and grandchildren, Jacob and Lydia.
Jim's life-long passions were his family, Harley's and classic Chevy's. His gift of hearing what was wrong with a motor is what propelled him to opening his own business.
Jim opened Dugan's Cycle in Indianola in 1997. It was because of his expertise with bikes – especially Harley's – that he became known as "Doc." Those who knew him best say they'd only trust one person to work on their bike: Dugan.
Husband, father, son, brother, uncle, grandpa, FRIEND… Jim was truly one of a kind and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.
A potluck celebration of Jim's life will be on Thursday, September 14, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Elks Lodge, 110 W. Ashland Ave., Indianola.
Graveside burial of cremains will be held 11 a.m., Friday, September 15 at Indianola I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Those interested in joining the motorcycle escort, please meet at Overton Funeral Home, 501 West Ashland Avenue, at 10:30 a.m.
Memorials may be made to the Elks Lodge.
