Mr. James Cooper died Friday, December 19, 2008 at the Indianola Good Samaritan Center. Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 20, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church in Indianola. Burial of cremains were in the Melbourne Cemetery, Melbourne, IA.

He is survived by his wife, Ethelyn "Lynn" Cooper; daughter, Patricia (Vernon) Traster of Huntsville, OH; sister, Sondra Cooney of Hilton Head, S.C.; granddaughter, Andrea Rosenthal and daughters, Eva and Mae of Cincinnati, OH; grandson, Marshall Traster of Oakland, CA; as well-as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leta and Walter Cooper; brother, Gary Cooper and wife Donna Belle and also their son Mark; sister, Vivian Hauser and husband Auburon.

In Lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the First United Methodist Church, Indianola Fire & Rescue Dept., or Kiya Koda Humane Society.
