A Celebration of Life Service for James Robert Clendenen, 56, of Indianola, Iowa who passed away Monday, November 7, 2016 will be held 7 p.m., Thursday, November 10 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola.  Burial of cremains will be held at 10 a.m., Friday in the Indianola IOOF Cemetery.

Jim was born June 18, 1960 in Des Moines, Iowa to James Thomas and Virginia Lee (Heuberger) Clendenen.

He was a graduate of Indianola High School and continued his education with two years of college.  He was a self employed carpenter.

Jim enojoyed hunting and fishing as a young adult,  loved trains, watching the Dallas Cowboys, music and playing the drums, family pets (especially cats), and gravel travel. Jim loved his family and friends and especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Fish; mother, Virginia Clendenen; sisters, Julie VanderLinden and Becky (Jeff) Gripp; step-daughter, Jamie Graham; six step-grandchildren, Megan, Madison, Jack, Colton, Carter and Gage; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his father Jim Clendenen and brother-in-law John VanderLinden.  Memorials may be given to the family in Jim's memory.  Online condolences may be made at www.overtonfunerals.com.
