Born in Spring Hill, IA, Jacob served in the United States Navy during WWII and lived in Indianola for the past 25 years.  He had been involved in sales, farming and was an electrotyper for Meredith Corporation.  He was a member of the Church of Christ in Martensdale.

He is survived by his wife, Imogene; two daughters, Linda (Jim) Looker of rural Liberty Center and Nancy (Roger) Miller of Ottumwa; 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his son, Will.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services on Monday, January 29 at Overton Funeral Home.  Memorials may be given to the family in his name.
