JACKIE Lee KENNEY Indianola Memorial services for Jackie Lee Kenney, 76, who died Saturday, September 28, 2013 at the Veterans Home in Marshalltown, IA, will be held 10:30 a.m., Monday, October 7, at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola with burial of cremains to be held 2 p.m., Monday in the Iowa Veteran's Cemetery, Van Meter, IA. Jackie was born NOvember 20,1936 to Raymond and Juanita (O'Connell) Kenney in Jefferson, Iowa. Jackie was raised in Rippey, Iowa. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War from 1954-1965. In 1956 he married Dorothy Wingett in Spokane, Washington. From this union they had a daughter and three sons, and later divorced. In January 1983 he met the love of his life Judy Mitchell and her daughter Kim. Soon the families became one. Jackie was an all animals lover. He took in every animal that needed a home..., geese, pigeons, raccoons, dogs, cats, mules, ponies, horses, and even a turtle. Together they have loved and spoiled twelve grandchildren, Brad (Kim) Miller, Josh Miller, Greg (Shari) Miller, Jessica Perry, Scotti (Ray) Ramberg, Kaily (Nick) Defino, Erin Naberhaus, Josie Naberhaus, Eric Naberhaus, Jeff Kenney, Lisa (Kirk) Crawford, Hope Kenney; and thirteen great-grandchildren, Breanna, Finley, Jayden, Jackson, Lynlee, Taylor, Maylee, Bianca, Giada, Callen, Audric, Raymond and Aurora. He was preceded in death by his parents and son Raymond Allen Kenney. Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Judy; children, Dorene (Dana) Halverson, Sidney (Ella) Kenney, Melvin Kenney, Kim (Tim) Naberhaus; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; brother, Tom (Marilyn) Kenney; sisters-in-law, Aftom (Jim) Wittick, Joyce Bears and Ann (Ron) Popkes.
