Jack Verlyn Paulson, 77, of West Des Moines passed away at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines peacefully on Sunday, May 25, 2025.

Jack was born December 9, 1947 in Fort Dodge, Iowa, and graduated from Lincoln High School in Des Moines.  Jack worked for Central Tractor before becoming a Water Treatment Operator for the Des Moines Water Works, from where he retired. Jack enjoyed coffee, bowling, golfing, traveling and spending time in Arizona during the winter months and country music.

Jack is survived by his daughter, Vicki (Robert) Herold; son, Scott (Cami) Paulson; stepdaughter, Lynn Woolsey; grandchildren, Cody (Cassy) Herold, Cole Herold, Michael (Sadie) Richmond, Eric Richmond, and Jordan Shafer; great-grandchildren, Emery, Karter, Becket, and Alex.  He is preceded in death by his wife Virginia and parents Lloyd and Mildred.

Celebration of life will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, June 5 at Overton Funeral Home, 501 West Ashland Ave, Indianola, Iowa. Visitation will be held prior to service from 9:30 to 11 a.m.  A private family burial will be held in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the family for a donation at a later date.
