Jack was born on August 14, 1929, and graduated from Patterson High School. He married Marguerite Brick on August 12, 1950. They raised 4 children and farmed in Warren County for 43 years. They retired to Bella Vista, Arkansas in 1994 where they lived for 11 years. Jack and Marguerite recently returned to Indianola.

Jack loved spending time with his family and good friends. He was a loving husband, dad, grandpa and friend.

He is survived by his wife, Marguerite; daughters, Marianne (Donnie) Kohrs of Arizona, Jacqui (Doug) Hart of West Branch, Christina (Kevin) Smith of West Des Moines; brother Bernard (Teddie) Gray of St. Charles; sister Thelma (Paul) Bailey of Des Moines; 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Jack was preceded in death by his son, Denny Gray and parents Jim and Bernice Gray.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 21 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola where the family will be present to greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. A scripture service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday evening. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 22 at 10:00 a.m. at Church of Assumption in Churchville with burial at Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Mercy Hospice.
