A Celebration of Life Gathering for Jack Eugene Brown, 80, who passed away Thursday, December 30, 2021 in Winterset, will be held 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 7, 2022 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola.  Inurnment of cremains will be at a later date in the Linn Grove Cemetery, rural Norwalk.

Jack Eugene Brown was born September 27, 1941 in Sargent, Nebraska, the son of Eli Sylvester and Edna Hazel (Brodine) Brown.  As a teenager the family moved to the family farm near Martensdale, IA.  He graduated from Martensdale High School in 1959.

He was united in marriage to Carolyn Louise Morrison in May of 1959.  To this union three children were born, Robert Allen, Rhonda Jean and Randy Eugene were born.

Jack worked as a sprinkler fitter from 1959 to his retirement in 1978.  Following retirement he enjoyed working on the farm, raising cattle and spending time with his family.  He also spent a lot of time hunting, fishing, raising bird dogs and was an avid arborist.  He also loved the game of baseball and enjoyed coaching in the Churchville Little League.

Jack is survived by children, Rhonda Conner and Randy Brown; grandchildren, Michael Conner, Matthew Conner, Justin Brown, Amanda Carnes, Kasey Boehm, Allen Brown and Megan Brown; great-grandchildren, Madey Boehm, Marston Conner, Allisyn Brown, Hayden Carnes, Elowyn Conner, Hunter Boehm, Easton Carnes, Arthur Jack Conner and Orinthia Conner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eli and Edna Brown; son, Robert Brown; siblings, Dorothy Dimmet, Calvin Brown, Lucille Spanel, Melvin Brown, John Brown, Jim Brown, Dick Brown and Bob Brown.
