Funeral services for Ivan Sadler, 88, who died Thursday, December 29, 2005, will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2006, at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola.  Burial with military rites will be at Liberty Center Cemetery.  Visitation will be held starting 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, prior to services.

Born in Arlington, Iowa,  he served in the United States Navy during WWII.  He farmed, drove truck, was a grounds keeper at Adventureland and worked in the kitchen at Prairie Meadows.

Surviving are sons, Larry (Audrey) of rural Murray, Francis of West Des Moines, and Ivan Jr., (Lucy) of Ida Grove; and daughter, Sue Houseman of Mitchellville; 16 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be given to American Cancer Society and Des Moines Humane Society.
