ILO IRENE ALEXANDER Osceola (formerly of Norwalk) Graveside inurnment of cremains for Ilo I. Alexander, 92, who passed away Thursday, March 6, 2014 at the Southern Hills Specialty Care in Osceola, IA, will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, March 22 at Webb Cemetery, rural Norwalk. Ilo Irene Alexander was born July 16, 1921 in Norwalk, Iowa. Her parents were George T. Hagen and Bernadine (Burmister)Hagen. She married Wendell Alexander on October 1, 1944. They had two daughters, Kris and Connie. Ilo and Wendell (Winkie) operated Alexander Service and Grocery in Spring Hill, Iowa for several years. Ilo moved to Norwalk, Iowa in 1969 and began working at Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in Des Moines, Iowa. Ilo retired in 1986 and spent time traveling and enjoying time with her family and friends. Survivors include her daughters, Kris (John) Barnes of Omaha, NE and Connie (Frank) Oberender of Osceola; grandchildren, Bobbie (Brian) Fuller and Carrie (Brandon) Aschan; four great-grandchildren; and sister, Helen Stiffler of Norwalk; and many nieces and nephews.
