Memorial services for Ida Lewis, 82, who died Friday, December 31, 2010 in Des Moines, will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Chapel of Faith Church in Indianola. Burial of cremains will be held at a later date in the I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Indianola. She is survived by her husband, Jack; children, Steven (Sheryl) Lewis of Tucson AZ, Suzanne (Clint) Young of Emmetsburg, and Jim (Roxanne) Lewis of La Porte City; six grandchildren, Scott Lewis, Mikal Young, JaDee Gloede, Ryan, Doug, and Ben Lewis, eight great-grandchildren Jenna and Andrew Lewis, Brooke Young, Megan, Joseph and Kianna Gloede, Clair and Julia Lewis, brothers, Arden, Lyle and Lloyd James; sisters, Vinice Goben, Bertha Weber and Rose Sytsma. Preceding her in death were her parents, Walt and Effie James, a brother Ralph, and a sister Cleva Barnes. Ida's life is best summarized by her love and devotion to her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Beyond her affection for her own family, her love of all children was unsurpassed. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Chapel of Faith Church.
