Howard A. Smull, 90, of Des Moines got his angel wings and flew off to be with his wife on March 28, 2020.  Due to Federal and State regulations because of the COVID-19 pandemic, a memorial service will be held at a later date.

Howard was born in St. Charles to Arthur and Ruby "Gretchen" Smull. He graduated from St. Charles High School and he was a veteran of WWII.  He was married to his loving wife Lois for 63 years. He and his wife had a daughter Carolyn in 1962.  He worked for Allis Chalmers for 40 years most recently as a Territory Sales Manager.  Howard enjoyed being outside, gardening and yard work, tinkering in the garage, coaching girls softball, and traveling.  Howard became a grandfather in 1995 to a grandson, Devin Smull. Howard was a good, honest, hardworking man.  He is survived by his daughter, Carolyn Smull; grandson, Devin Smull; brother, John Smull and his wife Joyce; sister, Gladys and her husband, Bill Vernier.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Gretchen Smull and wife, Lois Smull.
