Services for Henry J. Wonderlin, 83, who died Saturday, February 3, 2007, at the Indianola Good Samaritan Center will be held 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, February 6, at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola.  Burial will follow in the St. Charles Cemetery.  A memorial mass will be held 12:30 p.m. at the Church of Assumption at Churchville.

Born in Colfax, he grew up in Martensdale.  Henry was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Des Moines.  He served in the United States Navy Seabees during World War II.  He was a retired farmer.  Hobbies were flying, go-cart racing, country music, dancing and garage sales.

Surviving are his wife Opal of Indianola; two sons, Jerome (Kathy) Wonderlin of rural Prole and Doug (Jane) Wonderlin of Ankeny; one daughter Kathryn (Dennis) Hart of Ankeny; three step-daughters Diane (Kelly) Clevenger and Brenda (Les) Gavin, both of rural Indianola and Berta (Rodney) Heemstra; 6 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild; 8 step-grandchildren; and 3 step-great-grandchildren.

He was proceeded in death by his first wife Wilma in May, 1982.

Visitation will be held 5:30-7:30 p.m., Monday, February 5, at Overton Funeral Home where family will be present to greet friends.  Memorials may be given to Fairview Christian Union Church or Church of Assumption.
