Services for Helen M. Vander Werff, 82, who died, Sunday, September 11, 2005 at the Iowa Methodist Hospital ER in Des Moines, will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 15 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola.  Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, at Union Chapel Cemetery north of Mingo, Iowa.

Mrs. Vander Werff was born in Jasper County, had lived in Indianola since 1957 and had recently moved to Des Moines.  She was a homemaker, avid bowler and enjoyed traveling.

Survivors included her husband, Marion of Des Moines; daughter, Jane Vander Werff of Albuquerque, NM; brother, Lowell Jones of Akron, OH; sisters, Mary Minear of Windsor Heights, Verla Bosovich of West Des Moines, and Cleo Billingsley of Sun City West, AZ; granddaughter, Elizabeth Marie (Earl) McConnell; great-granddaughters, Anna Marie and Jordan Lenae; and great-grandson, Mikel.  She was preceded in death by her daughter, Judith Flint and brother, Keith Jones.

Visitation will be held 3:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, September 14 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola with family being present to greet friends from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.
