HELEN MARIE WEEKS

Helen Marie Weeks, 92, passed away Monday, April 16, 2018. Cremation has taken place and memorial services are planned for 2 p.m., Saturday, April 28 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Burial of cremains will be held in the Belmont Cemetery, Milo at a later date.

Helen was born on June 30, 1925 on a farm in Fontanelle, IA, to Pearl and Fay Johnson. After graduating from Corning HS she went on to graduate from AIB in Des Moines. Helen worked for many years in Des Moines at various businesses and later in life co-owned Pagliai's Pizza in Indianola with her husband Jerry. Helen loved people and enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, and spending time with family and friends. The last year of her life she resided at Park Ridge Specialty Care where she made many new friends and enjoyed the love and concern of the many staff members and Hospice workers. She was beloved by many and will be missed.

She is survived by her husband Jerry Weeks, her daughter Debbie (Tim) Cook, daughter Theresa Pagliai, son Ken (Missy) Weeks, one sister Joyce Coffman, 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and innumerable friends.

Helen was preceded in death by Harvey (Helen) Johnson, Fay Jr (Dorothy) Johnson, Opal (Doc) Dillard, Wayne Henry Johnson, Ben (Dorothy) Johnson, Tommy (Rosie) Johnson, Dorothy (Leon) Blake. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family.
