Helen was born May 25, 1924 in Grant City, MO. to Floyd and Fern Jackson. She graduated from Mt Ayr High School and also from Beauty School. She was united in marriage to Bernard Bence for 64 years working on the family farm side by side. She loved to garden and work with plants.

Survivors include her husband Bernard; daughter, Judy (Bill) Schabinger of Monument, CO., and their children Donnie, Crystal, Kim, Chris, Steven and Linnea; daughter, M. Lynn (Greg) Blankman and their son Gregory Thomas all of Plattsmouth, NE.; daughter-in-law, Connie Bence and her children Tiffany (Rick) Phippen, Tama-Lea (Mark) Lorenzen and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son Lyle T. Bence.

Visitation will be from 1 – 4 p.m. Sunday, March 8 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola where family will be present to greet friends. A Vigil Service will follow at 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
