Obituary

Harold Wayne Seward, 86, of Winterset, Iowa passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at Azria Health in Winterset.  A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, June 8, 2024 at the Peru Community Center, Peru, Iowa.  Harold was an owner of older classic cars.  Attendee's are encouraged to bring your old cars to the gathering.  A private family inurnment of cremains will follow in the Peru Cemetery.

Harold was born the son of Lyle and Goldie (Travis) Seward on October 25, 1937.  He graduated from Winterset High School.  Following graduation, he was united in marriage to Kay Davis on July 3, 1958.  To this union a son Robert "Bobby" was born.  Harold served and was honorably discharged from the United States Army after serving in Hawaii. Following his discharge, he returned to Iowa and had lived in Peru, Norwalk and Winterset.  He worked as an appliance repair man for 29 years before working as a hardware man for 33 years.

Harold enjoyed bowling, softball, working on cars especially classic cars.  He was a member of the American Legion, C.I.A. (Central Iowa Auto) car club.

Survivors include his son, Robert "Bobby" (Nikki) Seward; step-grandchildren, Jake and Jackson Bakerink; sister, Janice Halterman and brother, Loren Seward.  He was preceded in death by his wife Kay; parents, Lyle and Goldie Seward; brother Wilbur "Glen" Seward and sister Velma McKeever.  Memorials in Harold's memory may be given to C.I.A. for Christmas Shopping For Kids and community projects.  To sign an online condolence, visit our website at www.overtonfunerals.com.
