Obituary

Harold Dean Beaman was born on October 24, 1952, to Ruth (Cain) and Russell Beaman.  He lived in Earlham, Iowa, before moving to rural DeSoto, Iowa, during junior high.  He graduated from Adel High School in 1971, and received his Bachelor of Science from Iowa State University in 1975.  On June 2, 1973, he married his high school sweetheart, Rebecca Ann Button.  They were blessed with two daughters :  Brooke (Mrs.  Mikkel Jakobsen) and Alyssa (engaged to Captain Franklin Sablan, USMC) and his beloved granddaughter, Molly Jakobsen.

From 1975-1980 Harold was a deputy sheriff for Dallas County, where young, baby-faced Harold earned the nickname "Killer."  He spent the rest of his career as an insurance claims manager, and most recently was employed by MidAmerican Energy in Claims and Risk Management.

Additional survivors mourning his loss are sisters Kathleen Clubb and Christine Ioli; parents-in-law Harold and Shirley Button, brothers- and sisters-in-law Dan and Shari Button, Julie and Mark Kluber, Cindy and Randy Stefani, David and Teri Button, and Rob and Erica Button; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.  He was predeceased by his sister Carol Damron.

A visitation and celebration of Harold's life will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Indianola, Tuesday, March 2, beginning at 5:30 p.m. with service at 7:30 p.m.  Memorials may be given to the family in his name.  Online condolences may be sent at www.overtonfunerals.com.
