Gretchen Ruth Boord was born October 27, 1924 to Mabel Smith and Jeff Smith in Decatur County. She passed away March 11, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Indianola at the age of 95 years.

Gretchen is survived by her daughter, Charlotte Konrad; one sister, Della Davis; sister-in-law, Pat Reynolds; twelve grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren, and thirteen great great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mabel and Jeff Smith; husband, Calvin Boord; sons, Terry and Richard Boord; daughters, Janet Howard and Sandra Wallace; and sisters, Pauline Gorsuch and Betty Teirney.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, March 14 at Leon Cemetery, rural Leon, IA. Visitation will be held Friday, March 13 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Overton Funeral Home, Indianola.
