Glenn Alvin Davey was born July 23, 1934 at the old Davey homestead south of Sandyville, Iowa.  Glenn attended school at Beech in a class of 8 boys, graduating in 1953.  Glenn was employed by Firestone Tire and Rubber Company in Des Moines in 1957, where he worked for 30 years.   After retirement from Firestone, Glenn worked as a maintenance man for Christian Opportunity Center (COC) in Indianola.  Glenn loved the residents at COC and spent time not only fixing things but building relationships and giving, as well as, receiving kisses and hugs from the residents.

Glenn loved to be outdoors.  He loved to camp with friends and spend time going out to his acreage. His happy place was called "Glenn's Acres." Opening up the overhead doors to his shed, sitting in his recliner and letting the sunshine and breeze flow through the building, was his favorite place.  Of course, a nap was always the result.

Glenn had a group of coffee friends and they met for breakfast six days a week. The most important schedule Glenn kept was being on time for breakfast with his crew.  A close group of friends who took care of each other. If one failed to show up on time, they were getting a health and welfare call.

Glenn had a strong faith in Jesus Christ.  In high school he gave his life to Christ.  His mission over the years was to serve the Lord any way he could, using his plumbing, electrician, mechanical and carpentry skills to support mission efforts locally and internationally.

Many of Glenn's mission trips were serving in Haiti.  Glenn had a special bond to the Haitian community and he traveled there 5 times over the course of his life.

Memorials, in memory of Glenn, may be given to Three Angels Haiti, which is an orphanage in Haiti.
