Services for Glen A. Wilson, 80, who died Thursday, May 21, 2009, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 23 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. Cremation will follow services and burial of cremains will be held at a later date in the Scotchridge Cemetery.

Born in Indianola, Glen retired from the United States Postal service after 30 years in 1989. He also farmed for several years in Warren County. Glen went to school in a one room school house called Mt Olive which is now located on the Iowa State Fair grounds.

He is survived by his children, Kathy (Ray) Cox of Des Moines, Debbie (Tiny) Benge of Norwalk, and Glen (Barb) Wilson, Jr. of Indianola; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and one great-grandchild on the way. He is also survived by his brothers, Melvin (Reva) Wilson of Indianola and Bill Wilson of Des Moines; and one sister-in-law, Ruth Wilson of Indianola. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Gertrude Wilson; wife, Dolores Wilson; and brother, Jim Wilson.

Visitation will be held prior to services from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, May 23 with the family present to greet friends at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Ackworth Friends Church.
