Services for Glaydes Irene Hart, 85, who passed away Sunday, March 8, 2026, will be held 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 11 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. A Graveside service will follow 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, in the Highpoint Cemetery, Garden Grove, IA.

Glaydes Irene Hart, born September 12, 1940, in rural Mercer County, Missouri. She was the beloved daughter of Gerald and Louella Bright. Glaydes grew up in Mercer County and carried with her the values of hard work, kindness, and devotion to family throughout her life.

Glaydes had a deep love for sewing and was especially talented at quilting and embroidering. Through her skillful hands, she created countless handmade pieces that will be cherished by those who received them. She also had a special place in her heart for animals and enjoyed caring for them throughout her life.

Above all else, Glaydes loved her family. They were the center of her life, and she took great joy in spending time with them, sharing stories, laughter, and the warmth of her caring spirit.

She will be remembered for her gentle nature, creativity, and the love she freely gave to those around her.

Survivors include her daughters, Judi (Kevin) Miller, Joyce Hart (Dave Reeves), and Janice (Tom) Jedlicka; 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Earnie Bright; numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Robert; parents, Gerald and Louella Bright; great-grandson, J.D. Miller; sister-in-law, Martie Bright.

Visitation will be held 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 10 at Overton Funeral Home where family will be present to greet friends.
