GEORGE W. MEYER Indianola Born August 2, 1942 in Victor, IA and left us to be with God on May 26, 2014 at Nathan Adelson Hospice Care in Las Vegas, NV. Services will be held 4 p.m. Saturday, June 14 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. The family will greet friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday prior to services. Inurnment of cremains will take place at a later date in Victor, IA. He leaves behind his loving family including his wife of 50 years, Victoria; children Lisa (Gregg) Poots of Henderson, NV, Bill (Marian) Meyer of Chandler, AZ, and Erin (Kent) Ahnemann of Aurelia, IA and twelve wonderful grandchildren, Zaccary (Alicia) of Houston, TX, Tysson of Phoenix, AZ, Chelsi and Sydni Poots, Alexander, Beau and Mandi Meyer, Codi Meyer of Indianola, Camrin Meyer of Sioux Falls, SD, Jacee and Cade Ahnemann; brother Kenneth (Janet) Meyer and sister MaryJane (Ron) Stanerson. George graduated in 1960 from HLV High School in Victor, IA. He married Vicki on October 26, 1963. He lived and worked in Victor and was a Marine Reservist. He was a volunteer fireman and was a City Councilman there. George worked in the agricultural business for most of his life. He moved to Indianola in 1975 and was a volunteer on the Warren County Fair Association for 33 years. He retired from Barker Implement in 2008. He was an avid fisherman and hunter all of his life and loved to go hunting with his buddies and grandsons and fishing with Vicki and his grandkids. He was preceded in death by his parents, George & Martha (DeBrower) Meyer and daughter Jill Meyer. He leaves many other family and friends that meant so very much to him.
