George Stephen

December 21, 1972 – February 26, 2025
George "Steve" Dean, 52, of Indianola, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at home in Indianola. Steve had a heart full of gold he was always there for everyone and would stop what he was doing in the drop of a hat to help anyone who needed it. Two of the most important things to him were family and friends. He was there for his grandkids at every soccer game, football game, dance recital, and birthday party. He loved to share his love for smoking meat with everyone as he would spend hours making sure he had everything prepared so everything was to everyone's taste. His favorite thing was to have company over as you could sit there and talk to him for hours about everything and nothing but he would always listen. He shared the love of football while the Vikings played. He also loved going fishing as he prepared for his annual fishing trip every year and bonded with his family. Every year when all his kids were younger we would go camping and sit down by the water for hours just trying to catch a big enough fish to keep. He will never be forgotten in so many of our hearts.
Steve is survived by his daughters, Haille (Shadow) Bettuo, Brittany (Tyler) Hopkins, Erika Armstrong; grandchildren, David Goodell, Draven Ross, Peyton Ross, Skye Goodell, Emily Hopkins, Abigail Hopkins; parents, Curtis and Beverly Dean; siblings, Marcia (Andy) Partin, Stephanie (Josh) Dean; nieces, Allie Partin, Samantha Partin, Olivia Hansen; many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Andy and Norma Froedge, Paul and Shirley Polson.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the family in Steve's memory for a contribution at a later date.
