GARY ALAN NELSON

Celebration of Life services for Gary Alan Nelson, 57, of Des Moines, who passed away Sunday, December 31, 2017 in Des Moines, will be held 11 a.m., Friday, January 5, 2018 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola.

Gary Alan Nelson was born December 7, 1960 to Franklin Leonard Nelson and Janet Louise Waters in Des Moines, Iowa.  He worked as a cook at Victory Lanes.

Gary enjoyed spending time with his family, boating, skiing, camping, fishing, swimming cooking and trying to ride horses.

Gary is survived by his mother and father, son Steven Shriner and daughters, Amie Shriner, Karli Janes, Nina Nelson, Jenny Nelson, Nikki Nelson,  sister Evelyn Bengtson (Grant), and brothers Carl Nelson (Beth), Jeff Nelson (Taffy) Gary Bishop (Jessica), Jerry Bishop (Tonya), Lyle Bishop (Donna), Joe Bishop (Missi), Dan Bishop (Ronda), life companion Dawn (sissy) Nelson,12 grandkids and 3 special aunts Barb, Judy and Joyce.
