Garold was born in Clarke County, Iowa.  He served in the United Sates Navy during WW II.  He had lived and farmed in Marion and Warren County before retiring and moving to Milo.  He enjoyed dancing, carpentry, visiting, and visits from his grandkids.

He is survived by his wife Betty; sons, Gary (Pat) Chumbley of Milo, George "Jody" (Marcia) Chumbley of Burnsville, MN; sisters, Mabel Wilkenson of Virginia Beach, VA, Doris Powell of Woodburn, IA, 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 8 where family will be present from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Overton Funeral Home.  Memorials may be given to Milo Rescue.
